The Ministry of Labor will allow expatriates working in the Kingdom to return to their home countries, the Labor Minister, Nidal Bataineh, announced today during a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management.
Bataineh explained that expatriates wishing to return to their countries have to submit applications via hemayah.jo platform as of tomorrow morning, April 26, confirming that applicants can fill their applications in both Arabic and English.
“Registration will end on Monday, May 4, 2020,” the Minister said, confirming that the Ministry will enable workers to travel as soon as possible in coordination with the relevant authorities, the Crisis Management Cell and the concerned parties in their countries.
He added that registered workers will be exempted from travel fines or any sums they may incur related to work permit fees and other fees due to the current circumstances in light of the corona crisis, stressing that this applies to expatriates whose residence permits expired.
The Minister stressed that the departures of workers will be in accordance with the highest standards and preventive and precautionary measures to ensure their safety in light of the spread of the virus
