According to the Nakashiro Coast Guard Headquarters, a ship’s distress signal was sent around 6 am on the 1st near Oki Daitō Island, about 400 km southeast of the main island of Okinawa.

When the Japan Coast Guard flew to the site and confirmed it, it was found that a fishing boat had stranded on a rocky area on the east side of the island.
