Green thumbs touched Acfil’s Garden this year bringing it to full-bloom! Vegetables like ―ampalaya, upo, eggplant, okra, camote tops, saluyot, sili, tomatoes and kangkong filled the garden making it not just pleasing to the eyes but also gave an impression of a delicious meal at table. Filipino famous cuisine like ―pinakbet, tortang talong, diningding, ampalaya na may itlog,bulanglang atbp. were enjoyed by many last summer.

ACFIL’s Ang Tambuli September 2012 Newsletter

Ang Tambuli – is the official  Newsletter of ACFIL,  started  last 2002 up to the present to form and inform the Filipinos in the region regarding the political, social & migration issues especially to those who have the difficulty in comprehending the Italian language. This was financed by the Provincia di Torino for two years and the last 6 years, ACFIL continued the action independently due to the strong demand of the community taking out also the logo of the Provincia di Torino.

ACFIL will once again conduct a One-day SEMINAR ON FINANCIAL LITERACY and ADDRESSING BARRIERS TO REINTEGRATION.

This time it will be in collaboration with Iganap Guardians Torino Chapter and Federal Land Europe. The said seminar will be done on September 23, 2012 at Via Morgari 14, Torino from 8:30am to 5:30pm.

Rotary International 45° parallel scholarship candidates

Since 2008, Rotary International 45° parallel ( ROTARACT)) together with ACFIL ( PHILPANEL) have been granting scholarship to 7 Filipino Youth here in Turin .It took four long years of hard labor both for the scholars and the sponsors to see the fruit of such sacrifice. Compliments to KRISTINE BAUTISTA one of the scholars, who patiently reached the end of the duration of the grant with flying colors.

Now, the SAVE A MIND project will continue with Rotary International 45° Parallel only for the year 2012-2014. ACFIL’s role this time is only to submit

Italy: Filipino Baby died after being injected with milk

Rome, July 23 (IANS/AKI) Six staff members of a hospital in Rome were investigated Monday after a premature Filipino baby died when he was injected with artificial milk instead of saline solution.  The staff members probed at the San Giovanni hospital included doctors, nurses and auxiliaries.

The baby boy who died on June 29 due to presumed error because milk was infused instead of the right solution.
