Thanks to the great help of Joseph Espiritu of Patnubay, (DAGHANG SALAMAT BAY!) the exact location of OFW Melinda Atienza is now pinpointed (please see below).

His proposed steps to help Melinda are sound and therefore we urge Team Riyadh to use them, unless a better and more effective approach can be figured out.

We look forward to receiving news that this OFW has been successfully helped and assisted in getting home.

We have successfully located Melinda.. Please find the details below.. The suggested next steps will be for your office to request DFA OUMWA and Philippine Embassy in Riyadh to deploy their ATN Staff to get melinda for them to the the following steps.

1. Travel to Sakaka Al Jouf (this may take 10 hours of travel)
2. Locate the masjid which is closer to Melinda’s location.
3. At the time of Adhan (call to prayer), they must call Melinda to check if they both are hearing the same Adhan.
4. If confirmed.. then the ATN staff must proceed to the nearest police station
5. The Police will invite the employer and melinda to the police station.
6. The police if they know the law for HSWs, they must give Melinda to our ATN Staff. A domestic worker or any worker cannot work for an employer other than the sponsor.

Mission Accomplished po. Nasa baba po yong location Report for Melinda at naka-attached din dito ang pdf file ng conversation namin ni melinda on how we get her exact location.

Also, Please tell our new OWWA Admin Hans Cacdac to tell his staff not to advise the workers to escape. Katulad nyan, nagpayo ang isang richard seneres ng takas. eh 1000 kilometers yong worker from the embassy at nasa remote pa na area na less ang filipino community.

Today, two sisters and a friend came to the OPA OFW to seek help for the above named OFW. The sisters of said OFW were Mary Ann G Fiedacan [09778xxx] and Melanie G Alimaren [093960xxx]; the friend was Adelyn Ador [097782xxx; with email adelyxxxxx@gmail.com] who is the Executive Assistant of the Deputy Executive Secretary for Finance and Administration, OP.

They presented documents showing that Melinda G Atienza was recruited by Rejoice Employment International Corp as a landbased Worker for Household Service with Al Sayyar Recruitment as correspondent agent in Saudi Arabia. The contracted employer was xxxx xxxxx

They also submitted the written statements by the husband of Melinda, Gilberto M. Atienza, before the OUMWA, DFA, and her brother Raul Gutierrez before both OWWA and POEA – all to the effect that Melinda got sick and was brought to a hospital, that from the hospital her employer no longer brought her to his home (her contracted place of work) but instead brought her to the house of his father-in-law where she was required to render service as househelp, that then her contracted employer required her to be the household help of some of his Arab friends, and that the latest new employers (who she understood from someone who interpreted Arabian to English to her had paid for her services to the original employer) are the spouses Gxxxx xxxxx with cell # 0096650xxxx (wife) and Axxx xxxx with cell # 0559xxxx (husband) having address at Sakaka Al Jouf, [somewhere around Riyadh] Saudi Arabia.

Melinda feels distressed and afraid most of the time,her sisters say, as Melinda is left at home alone with the brother of the male employer and the employers and their friends, according to her, smoke something like “tawas” and she would get dizzy when that smoke reaches her.

REQUESTED ACTION: FOR HAVING BEEN SUBJECTED TO CHANGE OF EMPLOYER AND VENUE OF EMPLOYMENT WITHOUT HER UNDERSTANDING , OFW MELINDA G ATIENZA WANTS TO BE TAKEN AWAY FROM THIS LATEST EMPLOYER AND REPATRIATED SOONEST.
