\"\"<\/a>Josephus B. Jimenez<\/strong> (Atty. JBJ) is a lawyer, a diplomat, and a servant leader. He has more than 30 years of solid experience as a labor relations practioner.<\/p>\n

He first worked for major corporations in the Philippines, such as San Miguel Corporation and Pepsi Cola before he started serving  for the Philippine government in 2002.<\/p>\n

He first  served as  an Undersecretary of<\/p>\n

Labor and Employment from January 2002 to 2005.<\/p>\n

April 2005 to August 2008<\/em> – Atty. JBJ was assigned to work in Malaysia as a labor Attach\u00e9. There, he took care of the 200 thousand OFWs that include 120 thousand undocumented workers in Sabah and Sarawak.<\/p>\n

He applied quick and effective resolutions to the backdoor trafficking problem. He went to Tawitawi and discussed the problems with Muslim leaders. He visited the Filipinos who were jailed for violating Malaysian immigration laws. He arranged for the repatriation of women, children, sick and aged Filipinos who languished in Malaysian jails. Atty. JBJ’s  fight against human trafficking led to the arrest and convictions of  many traffickers who victimized women, minors, and men.<\/p>\n

Atty. JBJ  started  the  Training and Development Center for distressed migrant workers who are mostly domestic workers.  He also organized the  workers in Johore, Penang, Pahang, Kota Kinabalu and conducted training to them about Leadership and Self-Help and  Legal and Paralegal Support.<\/p>\n

February 2010 to April 2011<\/em> – In Taichung, Taiwan, he conducted lessons  to the OFWs on FINANCIAL LITERACY , LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT, and BASIC LAWS.<\/p>\n

August 2008 to April 2010<\/em> – In Kuwait, Atty. JBJ was commended by the Ambassador as the Best Labor Attach\u00e9 ever to be assigned in that country.<\/p>\n

He also wrote a regular column for free for THE KUWAIT TIMES, a column entitled ITANONG MO KAY LABATT JBJ, where he answers legal queries about work, contracts, family disputes, marital conflicts and property-related problems.<\/p>\n

May 2011 to the present<\/em>, Atty. JBJ was appointed as the Executive Director of the National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP), a government-owned maritime training center for Filipinos. The NMP is governed by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) agency.<\/p>\n

Atty. JBJ also writes a column for the The Freeman News, a daily newspaper published in Cebu by the “The Philippine Star”.  He mostly writes about migrant labour and social issues.<\/p>\n

Personal <\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>Atty. Josephus B. Jimenez was born in Argao, Cebu and grew up as a native or Langin, Ronda, Cebu. He is the eldest son of Mr. Leonor Q Jimenez (a veteran of the World War II) and Mrs. Constancia B. Jimenez both are educators.<\/p>\n

Atty. JBJ Married Emma Salazar, a Nueva Ecijana nurse. They are blessed with five (5) children, John Paul, Joyce Mae, Josef Rey, Jermiah and Jiza Mari. All the children have completed their college studies.<\/p>\n

Atty. JBJ graduated from the University of Visayas Law School, as Magna Cum Laude, and Class Valedectorian. He then  passed the  Bar Examinations with a rating of 84.93.<\/p>\n
