General Directorate of Passports: Enabling registration on the “Absher” platform for citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council, for dependent residents, and for visitors holding visitor visas.

Riyadh: Jumada Al-Akhirah 19, 1442 AH, corresponding to February 01, 2021 AD, SPA

The General Directorate of Passports has allowed citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, residents of dependents, and visitors holding a visitor visa to benefit from the services provided electronically by the Ministry of Interior through the “Absher” platform for electronic services, in cooperation with the National Information Center.

The “Jawazat” stated that the residents can register on the “Absher” platform under a resident ID number, for holders of visitor visas, and citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, according to the “border” entry number. These segments can register and activate the account on the “Absher” platform through Self-service machines, or through branches of the General Directorate of Passports, or electronic channels of Saudi banks that provide the service.

This comes as a continuation of the digital transformation of the services provided by the Passports and other sectors of the Ministry to the beneficiaries, enabling them to finish their procedures electronically without the need to review their headquarters, and these segments will also be able to enter the platforms of other government agencies related to the unified national access service using the digital ID issued by the Ministry of Interior through the platform “Absher”.
