Social distancing protocols in restaurants and cafes

  • The implementation of social distancing in the restaurant in the places of receiving orders and waiting areas by a distance of one and a half meters.
  • The members of a single family are treated as one, and social distancing is not required between them.
  • Establishing a mechanism to manage the waiting list so that it prevents customers from accumulating at the entrance to restaurants or cafes through pre-booking with electronic applications or by phone.
  • It is forbidden for individuals to wait inside the restaurant, either to receive orders or to get a table to sit down.
  • Prevent crowding at the entrances and exits.
  • It should be forbidden to serve food inside the restaurant in case it is not possible to apply the spacing distance (3 meters).
  • It is prohibited to participate in more than one group at one table.
  • The number of people at one table should not exceed five, even if they are from one family or friends.
  • The tables available for use by customers must be arranged inside the places where food or drink is served in a way that ensures that there is a distance of not less than three meters between the different tables in the same hall.
  • Activating the surveillance cameras (CCTV) and making sure that it covered all areas with restaurants and cafes.

Symptom monitoring protocols in restaurants and cafes

  • Measure the temperature of customers before they are allowed to enter the restaurant or coffee shop.
  • Prevent customers who have a high temperature or respiratory symptoms from entering the restaurant or coffee shop.
  • Not allowing any person involved in providing food and beverage services, from work or entering the facility if he has flu-like symptoms until the symptoms disappear, according to the attending physician’s report.
  • Measuring the temperature of all those involved in providing food and beverage services and all the workers daily before the start of the work period, recording the temperature and communication data and saving them in a dedicated record.

Protocols for reporting cases in restaurants are mandatory

  • Customers must be required to show their “Tawakkalna” application before entering restaurants and cafes.
  • In the event that a confirmed case is registered between a worker, the protocols approved by Weqaya Center and the Ministry of Health must be applied.
