KUWAIT: A source warned of a potential outbreak of tuberculosis or other contagious diseases as no medical tests are performed on expatriates who return to Kuwait after spending their annual leaves in countries where such diseases are rampant.
The Ministry of Health(MoH) is reportedly planning to carry out periodic medical tests on workers employed in the private sector (Article 18) or as domestic workers (article 20) from the India, Sri Lanka and Ethiopia every time they return to Kuwait from their home countries. According to an insider, many Kuwait families have expressed concern that domestic workers will return to their homes “without testing for diseases or viruses that could have contacted during their vacation period.”
The MOH operates an office at the Kuwait International Airport(KIA)” to carry out necessary procedures as soon as a domestic worker returns to the country.” -Al-Rai
