Communities report for patnubay.org by Ka Melvin Candelario
The 71 attendees of the successful PICE-OFCER seminar on Project Planning & Scheduling last 13, 20 & 27 July were happy of the added skills and empowerment gained from it; some would try cashing in on it to rise higher as usual compensation packages of planners are higher than any other engineer’s usual.
The first Friday was devoted on the theories video-broadcasted simultaneously to an adjoining hall of the White Palace Hotel (favorite venue of PICE-OFCER seminars and the Special Professional Licensure Board Examinations [SPLBE] reviews); the 2nd & 3rd Fridays were lively, enthusiastic & interactive Primavera Enterprise Project Management (P6) hands-on.
The astute instructor, who’s been 20 years in the construction industry, the principal planner of OPMDC and currently Saudconsult’s planning consultant at the King Abdullah Financial District Infrastructure Project, is more than willing to assist by extending mentorship to those who’ll be willing to go further (aspirants, countrymen who are of any engineering discipline, may please email SUREConsult@gmail.com to register and for more information). The PICE-OFCER seminar lecturer, who hails from Catbalogan, Samar and now a resident of Cebu – Engr. Joel G. Abaincia, CE, M.Eng., will be expounding on the knowledge built during the seminar by integrating the theories and hands-on per session with detailed step by step procedure in the upcoming Computer-Aided Project Scheduling [CAPS] Tutorial Course of the OPMDC Computer-Aided Engineering [CAE] Series of Alpha Tutorials (also in-line is the Basic Structural Engineering with Introduction to Computer-Aided Structural Analysis & Design [i-CASAD] Tutorial Course).
As what the indefatigable president of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc. KSA-Riyadh Region Chapter [PICE-OFCER], Engr. Cristino M. Tagaca, Jr., CE, RMP, said: “These PICE-OFCER seminars, another of which is the ACI training seminar for aspiring concrete construction special inspectors on the 7th and 14th of September 2012 as well as the tutorial courses of the OFCER Project Management & Development Corporation [OPMDC] – the reintegration arm of PICE-OFCER, shall equip and uplift the qualifications of the participating OFW engineers in Riyadh”.
Patnubay Notes: Aside from being active in the field of Civil Engineering, PICE also promotes servant leadership.
