EMBASSY ON WHEELS SUCCESFULLY HELD IN BURAYDAH
Four additional EOWs in Al-Khobar Announced

The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh successfully held its second consular outreach services or “Embassy on Wheels” (EOW) for 2013 at the Philippine International School in Buraydah (PISB) in Buraydah, Qassim on 24 to 25 January 2013. The EOW in Buraydah served 467 Filipinos.

A six(6)-member team from the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh went to Buraydah, Qassim Region to conduct the second EOW for the year at the Philippine International School in Buraydah. The visit was the first time the online appointment system was implemented during an EOW in Buraydah.

The team, led by Vice Consul Red Genotiva, served 434 e-Passport applicants and processed 15 notarial and authentication services, 14 registrations of birth, 3 replacement of lost passport and 1 passport extension.

In his address, Vice Consul Genotiva reminded all Filipinos in Buraydah to make sure that their passports are valid for at least 9 months if it will be used to travel as it takes about 30 days for the passport to be released. He also reminded Filipino to secure an appointment for e-Passport renewal at the Embassy website, www.philembassy-riyadh.org, both for renewals at the Embassy in Riyadh or during the scheduled EOWs for 2013.

Vice Consul Genotiva thanked Mr. Edison Mendoza and the rest of the management of PISB for being EOW’s gracious host. He also thanked Filipino Community Partners in Buraydah for their support during the two-day event.

The Embassy also wishes to announce its revised schedule for outreach consular services missions to Al Khobar for the year 2013. The Embassy has added four (4) additional schedules of Embassy on Wheels (EOW) in Al Khobar on the following dates: 14-15 February, 7-8 March, 21-22 March, and 18-19 April.

These are in addition to the previously scheduled consular outreach missions. Applicants with appointments for the months of February until July 2013 will be re-scheduled to earlier appointment dates.

Applicants who will be affected by the revised schedule will be informed by the Embassy through their e-mail addresses and cellphone contact details. With this revised schedule and additional 4 EOWs, the appointment slots for the consular outreach on 25-26 April, 23-24 May, 27-28 June, and 11-12 July will be considered open. The online appointment system will be soon amended to allow for online appointments on these dates. END
