KUWAIT CITY, June 24: The Filipina woman who was at the centre of the murder of a Filipino engineer who was allegedly stabbed to death by his Filipino housemate, apparently out of jealousy, vehemently denied reports that came out in the local dailies and social networking site Facebook that she had an affair with the victim. “It’s not true. We had no relationship. I was just working part time for him, washing his clothes and cooking for him and I get paid monthly,” disclosed Xylene, not her real name. Xylene who sustained a stab wound on her right shoulder during the incident on June 17 midnight is still in trauma after witnessing the stabbing incident inside their flat. Xylene is separated with three kids in the Philippines.

KUWAIT CITY, May 19: The Philippine Embassy line with its continued effort for to better serve all Filipino nationals has announced on weekend the arrival of two new officials to augment the embassy personnel. Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Lamberto V Monsanto introduced First Secretary and Consul Jabbar Adiong and Third Secretary and Vice Consul Shiena Tesorero to the leaders of various Filipino organizations in Kuwait who were welcomed by the community. “I’m very glad that our personnel has been augmented with the addition of two new officers Consul Jabbar Adiong and Vice Consul Shiena Tesorero plus two additional consular staff, we will be able to provide better services, consular services and attend to the needs of our distressed nationals,” stated Monsanto. Adiong who finished his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy at the University of the Philippines in Diliman and went to the San Beda Law School, was previously posted in Qatar before taking up the assignment in Kuwait.

KUWAIT – A Filipina fitness instructor suffered two broken hands and a busted knee, after being dragged down the stairs by a Kuwaiti policeman inside the office of the Kuwait municipality.

Jenny, not her real name, said she went to the said office on July 7 with her co-workers to renew their health cards. Their company’s liaison officer or “mandoub” was also there to help facilitate their papers, but Jenny and the officer started arguing.

Rumours Of Jail For Undocumented Filipinos in Kuwait Denied

KUWAIT CITY, July 2: The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait issued on Tuesday an advisory on the normal procedure of returning to the Philippines via the Kuwait Immigration for undocumented or overstaying Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). The advisory outlining 10 steps came out after some OFWs complained why they have to be endorsed to the Kuwait Immigration authorities despite having a duly processed travel document.

Philippine Charge d’ Affaires Raul Dado brushed off talks circulating on the social networking site Facebook that the Embassy is sending undocumented OFWs to jail. He outlined that they have to understand the procedure and the important thing is to follow the law of the host country. “If we break it, we need to follow the normal procedure of going back to the Philippines. The embassy does not cause deportation. It is the normal procedure in any country like the US or Canada. The embassy helps and gives travel documents for this.

KUWAIT CITY, May 6: The Kuwait Court of First Instance acquitted a Filipina Household Service Worker (HSW) who was charged with attempted murder by her Kuwaiti lady employer and has been released from the Kuwait Central Jail, disclosed Mar Hassan, the Assistance to Nationals Unit Officer at the Philippine Embassy on Monday to the Arab Times.

Maria Amor Corbilla, 34, married, a native of Pulangi, Albay in the Bicol region in the Philippines was turned over to the Philippine Embassy last weekend and is now staying temporarily at the Filipino Workers Resource Centre in Faiha while waiting for her repatriation to the Philippines.

THE Kuwait Ministry of Health (MoH) is performing a system-wide restructuring of public health care delivery services as well as raising the standards of public health care in its various government hospitals to be at par with other global medical institutions.

In line with the country’s move of upgrading the public health care systems, some of the public hospitals are undergoing renovation and expansion. Some new hospitals are being constructed, the biggest of which is the Sheikh Jaber Medical City in South Surra named in honour of the late Amir HH Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah. The Sheikh Jaber Medical City will be the largest medical centre in the State of Kuwait which will include four buildings with a total area of 469,370 square metres.
