(Manpower): Facilitating procedures for 54 Filipino workers in the
Migrant Worker Accommodation Center
KUWAIT, March 4 (KUNA) – The Public Authority for Manpower affirmed its eagerness to facilitate the labor procedures in the migrant worker accommodation center and to shorten the followed procedures regarding the settlement of their status, pointing to the settlement and completion of the procedures of 54 Filipino inmates inside the center in preparation for their return to their country.
The authority said in a press statement today, Thursday, that facilitating employment procedures comes as a commitment by the State of Kuwait to the law to combat human trafficking and smuggling of migrants, and to the international protocols and agreements that Kuwait has ratified, and based on its firm belief in labor rights as an essential part of human rights and preserving its dignity.
The authority added that the center for migrant workers received this worker through personal entry, stressing concern for workers’ rights by applying human rights principles and believing in the necessity of applying international standards in the field of work and workers and preserving their rights and protection.
The authority indicated their continuous cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of the Interior regarding facilitating the procedures for expatriate workers present at the center for migrant workers, as the procedures followed regarding the settlement of their status are shortened and the travel procedures of female inmates in the shelter are speeded up in coordination with the diplomatic missions of those workers and obtaining travel documents for them and then they can return to their homeland.
