The Ministry of Health Announces:
Extending the administration of the first dose to those who did not receive the vaccine and postponing all dates for the second dose; And reschedule it later
All existing dates for the second dose have been postponed starting Sunday, April 11, 2021, and the schedule for the resumption of the administration of the second dose will be announced later.
This decision is for:
- Covering a large segment of society with the first dose.
- International supplies of vaccines are scarce and faltering, as manufacturers face challenges in meeting contractual supply volumes.
- Ensure that the largest number of people is covered with the first dose of the “Covid 19” vaccine, especially the high-risk groups. To reduce severe cases. And protect public health.
- Maximize the benefit of the second dose, because of the research that the vaccine manufacturers are doing, to include the mutated types of the virus in them.
